This series, created during the ESKFF residency, consists of elegant wall scrolls that document non-carnivorous symbiotic relationships evolved over millennia. Reimagining himself as a 1700s Portuguese explorer, the artist embarks on a fantastical journey to capture and preserve these intricate connections between species across the globe. Each scroll serves as both a visual and narrative record, blending the artist's contemporary perspective with historical exploration. The works highlight the quiet, yet profound, interdependence of nature, inviting viewers to contemplate the subtle, harmonious bonds that sustain ecosystems. Through this creative reimagining of exploration and discovery, the series reflects on the human desire to understand and catalog the natural world, while honoring the deep history of these relationships.
